He decided to change careers and learn a skilled trade. He enrolled at St. Pete Vocational School and trained in HVAC. He studied refrigeration cycles, electrical basics, airflow, and safety. He earned certifications and built a diagnostics-first method. Listen first. Test before you touch. Show the customer what you see. Offer options that fit the need and the budget.


Over the next 30 years, Hector serviced homes and light commercial spaces across Tampa Bay. Split systems, heat pumps, ductless mini splits, rooftop units. He became known for straight talk and clean workmanship. If a repair made sense, he fixed it. If replacement was smarter, he explained why and stood behind the install.
